1. Types of Funding Available

WIOA Grant Funding: We provide information regarding the process for applying for state grant funds offered through local WIOA boards for eligible training providers with eligible programs. Nexum Career Institute is currently an approved eligible training provider for Texas and Maryland. Nexum Career Institute does not determine eligibility or have any influence on the approval process or funding availability of WIOA grant funds.
Vocational Rehabilitation Grant Funding: We provide information regarding the process for applying for state grant funds offered through local Vocational Rehabilitation offices for approved training vendors with eligible programs. Nexum Career Institute is currently an approved vocational rehabiliation vendor to offer training in the state of Texas. Nexum Career Institute does not determine eligibility or have any influence on the approval process or funding availability of Vocational Rehabilitation grant funds.
NCI GAP Scholarship (For Workforce & Vocational Rehabilitation Students): Nexum Career Institute (NCI) offers a GAP Scholarship for students approved for qualifying state-funded workforce or vocational rehabilitation grants, such as WIOA or Vocational Rehabilitation. This scholarship is designed to bridge the gap between the maximum funding amount awarded by the state and the total cost of NCI tuition — allowing eligible students to attend at no cost.
Key Highlights:
- Available to students approved for WIOA, Vocational Rehabilitation, or similar state grants
- Covers remaining tuition not paid by the funding source
- Covers remaining tuition not paid by the funding source
- No repayment required
- Applies directly to tuition (no cash disbursement)
This option helps workforce partners ensure their clients can access fast, flexible, and affordable career training without financial barriers. Eligible candidates should request a scholarship application from the Funding Department.
Payment Plans: Flexible payment plans allow you to spread the cost of your course fees over several months, making it easier to manage your budget. The minimum payment plan for programs require a 20% down payment of the tuition cost and a promise to pay zero-interest negotiated monthly installments for the remaining balance. Payment plan options include: Regular plan; Extended plan and Hardship plan. Extended and Hardship plans must be current for access to career services upon program completion and paid in full prior to receiving official course credentials. Payment plans do not include optional program fees such as certification testing.

Direct Payments: For applicants with the financial ability to pay, direct payments via credit card and/or Zelle can be accepted as payment for tuition and fees.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for funding, applicant must meet the eligibility requirements for each of the funding types as specified above. In addition, the applicant must:
- Be enrolled in an eligible program at Nexum Career Institute.
- Must meet the requirements of the admissions policy.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress during your program of study.
3. How to Apply for tuition funding
- WIOA Tuition Grant Funding: Complete application eligibility process with local WIOA office associated with your primary residence. Approval must be received prior to class start to be considered for enrollment.
- Payment Plans: Applicants may apply for a payment plan option during the registration process of enrollment. Down payments must be received prior to the class start to be considered for enrollment.
